Because, you know, procrastination:

The first line of the first fic posted each month this year (not including 100 word drabbles).

January
Morning saw Arthur bleary-eyed but alert as he arrived at the training yard to meet his new command.
(Field Trip, King Arthur fandom, part of Rites of Passage series)

February
Inventorying supplies was no one’s favorite task, but as Gareth was wont to say, it beat slogging through the mud and being shot at by people who painted themselves blue.
(Supply and Demand, King Arthur Fandom, part of Rites of Passage series)

March
None (Vacation to Austria!)

April
Wild rage followed hard on the heels of reeling shock when the arrow punched through his chest.
( Myths Legends and Lies, King Arthur fandom, part of Resurrection (crack) series)

May
The fighting is long over by the time Achilleus returns to the Myrmidon camp.
(Scars, Achilleus/Patroklos, remember my 100 fic thing?)

June
None (work, I hate you)

July
Arthur ran his fingers through damp curls, his hand sliding downward to cup the fragile base of Lancelot's skull.
(Dangerous Games, King Arthur fandom, part of Resurrection (crack) series)

August
Tristan crouched in the dirt by the stable's outer wall, watching Lancelot.
(Totem, King Arthur fandom, Tristan and Lancelot, written for [livejournal.com profile] darklyscarlett's birthday)

September
Arthur’s fingers tangled in dark curls as he struggled not to pull while holding his partner’s head against him.
(Quest, King Arthur fandom (and if you noticed the similarity to the first line of another story--hee!))

October
The battlefield was made of smoke and fire, the hellish sounds of the dying and wounded, the stink of blood and human butchery.
(Rude Awakenings, King Arthur fandom, part of Resurrection (crack) series)

November
When Arthur finally rose from his knees, it was only the ache in his joints that alerted him to the passage of time.
(Rituals and Observations, King Arthur, A/L, written for [livejournal.com profile] lessy37's b-day)

December
None (yet?)

Oi, lady, isn't there a case or two you're supposed to be working on?! **g**

I am still amazed by the way you've managed to pepper brilliant drabbles and ficlets throughout The Year of Teh Crack. I guess it keeps you from a frenzied slaughter of your minions (er, there is no body count, right?).

I have the day to myself, now that the great Santa suit caper has been pulled off. Must eventually do groceries, drop-off dry cleaning, and do the laundry, but I'm quite enjoying being curled-up under the blankets. Brrr! Wish that Starbucks delivered.

Hope you have a good Friday!

Case? er, what? My goal is to do no work today. I failed my last attempt, but I may actually carry it off today.

The minions are alive . . . mostly. I had to have a "talk" with one of them yesterday. I was as kind as I could possibly be (I think), but I hate doing that. This one is actually a nice guy, just, well, making me crazy. I think he's hiding from me now.

It is FREEZING outside--or it was when I came to work. The temperature may not be all that bad, but the wind is killer. Why doesn't SB deliver? Never really thought about it--maybe because they've very nearly opened up shop in every building here already. I'm lucky (?) enough to have one in my office building--so no need to venture outside for caffeine. Of course, if you don't want to go there, there's another one a block over to the northeast, another one a block over to the northwest, and another a block over from it . . . .

Have a good day off, and I'm glad to hear that you survived the great santa suit caper.

Goodness. That's cool to reread those things - I may have to do that meme too. Of course, after I'm done lazing about. :p

I did my exercise first thing this morning so I wouldn't feel guilty when I slept this afternoon - all in preparation for this weekends hellish work. *sigh*

If only I had some crack to read. *laughs*

The art of procrastination is a many layered thing. I always enjoy procrastinating on that which I'm using to procrastinate on something else. But really, the possibilities are endless (and I've tried most of them).

Crack to read. Huh. Maybe soonish, but no promises. I'm still crying bitter tears of frustration over it. Maybe when they run out.

Good luck with work this weekend! If it makes your days go by any better, I'm all for minion mercy slayings.

Sorry--actually that was this year in review, so I went to Austria in March 2006. I don't have any family there, but just went with an old school friend for fun. We were only there for a week, and mostly just stayed in Vienna. I had a wonderful time. History is an interest of mine, so I really enjoyed exploring the city. Oh, and the coffee. Yum. I'd love to go back sometime in warmer weather--It snowed a lot when we were there, and, obviously, the gardens were not in bloom. I'd also love a chance a to explore the rest of the country. So, who knows, perhaps I'll be taking you up on your offer to answer questions some time. : )

And wow, it amazes me that you're reading my stories from there!! : ) I'm very happy to hear you've been enjoying them. I really do love hearing back from people, so please feel free to post here whenever you're inclined.

Take care!
