I've been realizing lately that I don't actually like TV that much. Hmm. What I do watch:
Gilmore Girls (but I'm often still at work, so I miss it)
Battlestar Galactica
Simpsons (If I'm home)
Boondocks (if I happen to remember)
Occasional episode of Law & Order, because never bad, but seems to always be on
Daily Show/Colbert Report Because--do I even need to explain?
Occasional documentaries and news shows
Shows I used to watch, but don't really anymore:
Everwood (not sure why--it's probably that I've missed too much of it by being at work and a lot of the teenage angst just annoys me)
Smallville (I liked it in the beginning, but now it just seems very stupid. I stopped watching completely during the second (or third?) season
Stargate SG-1 (used to watch this fairly regularly--but now it just seems boring; I've watched an occasional ep of Atlantis, it's okay, but doesn't grab me)
[Edit--I forgot The West Wing (I used to adore this show, but lost interest around the time Sorkin left--or maybe a little before. I think it's still on.)]
Shows I would watch religiously if evil networks had not canceled them before their time:
Arrested Development (wails)
Dead Like Me (damn you showtime! I would have actually subscribed to your stupid channel)
And if you want to go back in time:
Firefly
Furturama
Pinky and the Brain (where are my dvds, damn you!)
I'm sure I'm missing stuff, but that's all I can think of. (I'm not counting things like X-files that got canceled after self-destructing).

Date: 2006-02-07 08:23 pm (UTC)Hmm, I only switch HBO back on when Entourage and Rome are airing. I was a huge Six Feet Under fan, but Ari and the Entourage boys are my cable show.
Love Nip/Tuck, but don't get to see it much. I see way too much English football. And Mystery!, plus BBC America on certain Monday's (when 24 isn't on). The one reality show I like is Project Runway. And as for a prime time show, it's really only 24 (!).

24 is one of those shows I feel like I should watch, and should get the dvds and marathon on some rainy/snowy day when I have nothing to do. Unfortunately, those types of days seem to have faded into legend. : (

Date: 2006-02-08 12:16 am (UTC)Also, I have to say "Firefly" in a small voice because if the Techies that sit in the next cubicle hear me I will end up listening while they debate Star Wars, Star Trek, Stargate and Firefly. Then I will probably be invited to their next poker game and all hope will be lost.
I like making fun of my Techies!!!

Date: 2006-02-09 05:31 am (UTC)And the commercials drive me insane. I think *that* is the main reason I watch so little network TV. And when I do I mute the ads.
I watch Medium, 24, Supernatural and Numbers on a regular basis. I used to watch Lost, but since *everybody's* jumped on the bandwagon, it's not so much fun anymore.
I tune in Sci-Fi Fridays until Numbers comes on, but it's mostly background noise while I'm writing. I can't get behind Battlestar Galactica. I was a big fan when it first came out. It was fun and kinda campy. Now it's all hyper-dramatic and the fun is gone. Still can't get used to Starbuck being female even if she does smoke cigars.
Some of the shows I've loved:
Carnivale (weird and wonderful)
Touching Evil
Freedom (about a team of elite Resistance fighters in a U.S. under martial law)
Time Trax (about a time traveller)
Harsh Realm
Magnificent Seven (based on one of my all-time favorite movies)
Jeremiah (post-apocalyptic drama with a lot of heart)
Highlander (swords!)
Covington Cross (more swords!)
The Outsiders
Seven Brides For Seven Brothers (based on one of my all-time favorite musicals)
Star Trek: Voyager (female captain, gotta love it)
