Oh yes, Lancelot did not notice anything about Arthur's appearance--yeah, and he also wouldn't have jumped out the window if it had been opened. :D I couldn't resist the noose image--I often wonder at the utter uselessness of ties, so I can only imagine what someone from the 5th C would think--which I guess I just did.
