I just got my eReader, and I have a bit of the same issue. But then, I got mine through work for reading manuscripts. I pretty much just use it for that...that and fanfic, of course. I've actually found it disorienting to read since, though there's a page count at the bottom, it's not the same is being able to feel where you are in the book. You can't flip ahead to see where the section ends, or flip back a few pages for a description. Well, not easily.
Besides, I often remember things about books like the color of the cover, the way the chapter titles were laid out, where on a page I read something. And since I also have pretty much everything I've ever read, I can find it again. It takes a while, but I can find it. If all I have is the text...I'm not sure. I mean, I have thousands of fic on my hard drive, and often I'll think of a story and be able to remember a scene vividly, but since I can't remember any specific phrases, I can't find it. (Which is why I have an elaborate excel spreadsheet for tracking, but that's besides the point.) There's just something about books.
I don't think I'm going to start buying e-books instead of physical books; I'll just use the e-reader to make portable what I'm already reading on the screen. That, and if I read every book I already have it would probably take me the rest of my life. My reach has always exceeded my grasp. Last time I moved, over half the boxes were books. The movers loved me.
