There might be an exception or two, but these days there's rarely a book I'm SO excited about that I must read it right now (as opposed to all the other books out there I must read right now that are already in paperback and perhaps somewhere in my house). It's actually a little sad--I can remember back in the day when I used to wait for months for the day that x book was finally coming out. I think it has to do with how I used to read a lot of sci fi/fantasy series, and was dying to know what would happen next. These days, I can't really find any of that kind of stuff that I don't drop in disgust or boredom after reading a few pages. It's probably one of the reasons I enjoyed HP so much--it made me nostalgic.
