Have not, as yet, read the book, my copy being ah, borrowed temporarily by someone's child (translation - I will never get it back) and Amazon not yet having delivered my replacement but -- somehow, I have the feeling I'm going to end up agreeing with you . . . and no, reading spoilers does not spoil it for me! Just tells me what to pay attention to . . .
