I'm the child of immigrants, so I've never really gone along with the mainstream viewpoint, but I was also lucky enough to have some excellent teachers in HS who made a point of presenting both sides of controversial subjects. There were always students who were offended, and refused to even listen, but I do believe that at least some students got their preconceptions shifted a bit. Which, really, is what eduction should be all about. My metaphorical hat's off to you--it can't be an easy job.
