Love that he was calling everyone out on our record of human rights abuses (yes, you Dick Cheney and George W. Bush)! But from his lips to the Hague you know it will never come to any prosecutions.

A good speech, and what I liked was that I don't think he's underestimating the challenges he's facing, but he still believes in our country and in American ideals. And he's right -- if we change who and what we are and believe in -- well, the other side's won, then.

There was much cheering over the speech at the inauguration party I was at. (Crepes and patriotic cupcakes at 10 in the morning.) This part especially. And the bit about restoring science. I liked that a lot.
